Port Moresby talent tries out for new talent show airing on TVWAN Life Channel this Saturday
Excitement is building for, which will begin airing this Saturday (November 5).
The first auditions took place last Saturday with budding magicians, singers, dancers and comedians all impressing the judges with their performances in each of their respective act categories.
One hundred and forty-three individuals and groups tried out for the show at the Murray Barracks Sports Complex. More talent is expected to participate in the second audition to be held at the Murray Barracks on November 5.
The first round of auditions took place on Saturday 29 October, which saw 10 acts selected to take part in the heats. From these 10 acts, three were selected to take part in the live shows. They included a magician, a comedian and a singer.
Yu Em Khax is a first of its kind talent show which will profile Papua New Guinea’s most talented, unique and brightest entertainers.
DigicelPlayCEO,NicoMeyer, said even after the first audition he was confident the show will be a great success.
“We saw many incredible acts at our first Port Moresby audition and cannot wait to show the rest of PNG the unique talent displayed,” he said.
Those who missed out on auditioning on Saturday in Port Moresby will have another chance on November 5.
“Many talent shows have been hugely successful internationally, launching hundreds of careers, and we want Papua New Guinea to have the same opportunity,” said Nico.
Auditions will also take place in Lae on November 12, Mt Hagen on November 19, Kokopo on November 26 and Alotau on December 3.
Premiering at 7pm on Saturday November 5, Yu Em Khax will air weekly on TVWAN Life Channel and follow performers through auditions, heats and semi-finals before the live grand-finale show on Saturday 21 January, 2017.
